Itinerary at a Glance
Day 1 – Arrive in Sendai and Stay in Akiu Onsen
Meet your guide at Sendai Station and begin your Tohoku journey with a visit to Matsushima, one of Japan’s most celebrated scenic coastal areas. After time to enjoy the bay views, small islands, and temple surroundings, continue to Akiu Onsen, a well-known hot spring retreat just outside Sendai. Check in to your ryokan, relax in the hot spring baths, and enjoy a traditional Japanese dinner.
Day 2 – Yamadera, Zao Scenery, and Overnight in Zao Onsen
After breakfast, travel to Yamadera, the historic mountain temple famous for its quiet setting and sweeping views. Continue through the beautiful landscapes of Yamagata and head toward the Zao area, known for its mountain scenery and long-standing hot spring culture. In the afternoon, arrive at Zao Onsen, settle into your ryokan, and spend the evening enjoying another hot spring stay with dinner.
Day 3 – Ginzan Onsen Stroll and Return to Sendai
Leave Zao after breakfast and travel to Ginzan Onsen, one of Tohoku’s most atmospheric hot spring towns, lined with traditional wooden inns along the river. Enjoy free time to walk through the charming streets, take photographs, and experience the nostalgic townscape. After the visit, depart for Sendai and conclude the tour at Sendai Station in the evening.

I am 6 feet tall and 220 lbs. This shirt fit me perfectly in the chest and shoulders. My only complaint is that it is so long! I like to wear polo shirts untucked. This shirt goes completely past my rear end. If I wore it with ordinary shorts, you probably wouldnt be able to see the shorts at all – completely hidden by the shirt. It needs to be 4 to 5 inches shorter in terms of length to suit me. I have many RL polo shirts, and this one is by far the longest. I dont understand why.

The shirt was not the fabric I believed it to be. It says Classic Fit but was made like the older versions, not the soft cotton like my others. I don’t understand how the labels are the same but a completely different shirt. Oh well, stuck with it now.
